The genre “fragmovie” was literally born by quake, the first frag movies appeared in 1998 and showed frags of quake1 / quakeworld.
In 1999 when Quake 3 was released the multiplayer scene was divided between the team-based Counterstrike and the two big duel shooter Unreal Tournament (99) and of course Quake 3.
While multiplayer gaming became more and more popular, the number of movies from the different scenes (RTS – Starcraft / Warcraft 3 and FPS) also increased.
The most popular movie format back in these days (and nowadays) was the “fragmovie”, which shows the most impressive shots / frags from a player or team.
This 12 minute long movie focuses only on the frags, it was created 3 years before (in April 2010 ) the big lan-history was finished.
